Now, this is the “Holy Grail” of talkboxers. The most famous talkbox ever. Roger Troutman, the Godfather of talkboxing used it so you get the point… But it’s also sought after for its sonic performances and classic design. It comes in four distinct models that house either the Electro-Voice 1823M or 1824M horn driver. The Golden Throat I is basically a re-design of the “classic” Golden Throat when the Golden Throat II was released. The GT I and GT II share the same housing, same graphic design, with bypass footswitch and peak level led, except that the Golden Throat II is pretty much taller, though its driver (1824M) was much flatter (It’s obviously a housing supply issue of that time). The Golden Throat “Deluxe” was self-amplified and had a few “extras” like a power switch, tone and volume controls, external amp and monitor footswitches.
